Hilton's challenge to Theron


NEW YORK: Hotel heiress Paris Hilton has warned Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron to watch out - as the pair could be battling soon for the same movie roles.

The 25-year-old socialite, who previously appeared in the horror film "House of Wax", is confident she shares a similar screen style to Theron, reports hollywood.com.

And Hilton has no qualms about putting herself in direct competition with Theron.

"My acting coach told me I have a similar style of acting to her so we may end up vying for the same parts," she explains.

Pop star JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE struggles to write his own songs because the process is too time consuming to fit into his busy lifestyle.

The CRY ME A RIVER hitmaker instead prefers a more spontaneous approach to making music.

He says, "I have trouble writing, it slows me down. I go into the studio and come up with an idea, then bounce it off of whoever I'm working with or if I'm by myself, sit down at the piano and start banging it out."

Avril Lavigne is trying to shake off her old punky image for a more mature look, now that she’s signed to top modelling agency Ford.

“It’s insane how much I’ve changed,” she told Harpers Bazaar.

“I’ll look back at old pictures and think I was such a little tough-ass.”

Dior leads the celebrity pack as Oscar time nears

PARIS -- As the Oscars draw near, there is almost as much buzz about what stars will wear as there is about who will win an award.

Fashion and Hollywood have never been cozier, as actresses replace models on the covers of magazines and consumers increasingly take their style cues from famous role models.

Christian Dior knows the value of a celebrity endorsement. The French fashion house features Charlize Theron in advertisements for its fragrance J'adore and has enlisted Sharon Stone to promote its anti-aging skincare line.

Among the front-row guests at its autumn-winter ready-to-wear show on Tuesday were two of Hollywood's hottest properties, Kate Hudson and Jessica Alba.

"I'm wearing all Dior," Hudson confided as she faced photographers, dressed in a cream coat and white satin high heels.

Jessica Alba, who graces the cover of Playboy's March issue wearing a bikini, isn't happy to be there.

In a lengthy letter obtained by the Smoking Gun Web site from the legal department of Columbia Pictures (the studio behind Alba's movie Into the Blue) to the men's magazine's legal department, the film company expresses "dismay and anger over the outrageous, unethical behavior" it claims the magazine exercised "to obtain the photograph of Jessica Alba that was used without authorization."

Lauren Chapin, who played Kathy, the youngest daughter of TV parents Robert Young and Jane Wyatt, recently visited Ceres Christian Church and shared her powerful story of recovery from years of brokeness.

Chapin's real life was far from the ideallic Anderson family on TV, she told the church on Feb. 12. Her mother was an alcoholic who rejected her and denied her affection. Her father and one of his friends sexually abused her, scarring her emotionally for years.

 

Hindu priest didn't recognise Spears


The priest at a Hindu temple visited by pop singer Britney Spears admits he didn't recognise her when she first arrived with her four-month-old son Sean Preston to seek spiritual guidance.

According to contactmusic.com, Spears visited a Hindu temple in Malibu, California. She was born a Baptist but has tried out Kabbalah and has now turned to eastern religions, according to the temple minister Samundrala Krishna Ma Charyulu.

Britney Spears Does New Orleans Mardi Gras


Britney Spears of Kentwood Louisiana which is north of Lake Ponchatrain has become the Belle of New Orleans on this eventful Mardi Gras day.

The 24-year old music giant has been a guest on ABC´s Good Morning America. Spears has participated in fundraisers for victims of the hurricane.

During her stay, Spears has had an opportunity to discuss the grave effects of Katrina with local girls who have lost most of what they owned.

Meantime, some residents of Kentwood have been upset of the attention that Spears has given to New Orleans and not to Kentwood, her hometown.

Britney Spears rumoured for lesbian role


Britney Spears upcoming role on hit gay sitcom Will & Grace is now being rumoured to be a lesbian part.According to reports, the episode, airing in the US this April, will feature Ms Spears as an assistant to Jack, played by Sean Hayes.

In Touch Magazine claims a Christian network buys 'Out TV' where Jack works, and she becomes his sidekick.

When photographer Andrew MacNaughtan attended last year’s Canada For Asia benefit to help victims of the south Asian tsunami he was inspired to help. So, according to Chartattack, he took a trip to Uganda with World Vision Canada, “The poverty and squalor he witnessed compelled him to do whatever he could to help, which inspired Art Gives Hope.”

Art Gives Hope is an online auction of photographs taken by MacNaughtan and autographed by the artist portrayed. The auction which will last from March 7 – 11 will feature over 60 photos of Canadian musicians like Alanis Morissette, Avril Lavigne, The Tragically Hip, Our Lady Peace and Bryan Adams jus to name a few.

 

Movie Role For Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey is to star in Tennessee, a new movie about a family hit by crisis.

She will play a waitress who sets off with two brothers to find their estranged father, reports Variety.

Their goal is to get the father involved in saving their younger brother, who has leukemia.

Shooting on the film is due to start in New Mexico and Tennessee this spring.
